Jeffrey Carter Obituary

Jeffrey Thomas Carter, 58, of Christiansburg, Va., died Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Twin County Regional Hospital. He was born in Christiansburg, Va. on September 29, 1951, to the late Sylvester Thomas and Edith Mae Bolt Carter Clyburn and was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack Carter. He is survived by his wife, Melissa F. Carter, of Christiansburg; two step daughters, Cierra Kittinger and Reba Mullins; one step son, Joe Kittinger, all of Christiansburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Jack Duty, of Blacksburg, Lois and Brad Covey, of Radford; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Neil Carter, Kenneth Carter, David "Chunk" Carter, Jerry and Kathy Carter, all of Blacksburg, Tommy Carter, of Moneta; stepfather, Claude Clyburn, of Radford. He is also survived by three step children, Gayle, David and Perry; two special step grandchildren, Nikki and Shane; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Debra and Sam Kittinger, of Christiansburg and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. N.R. Taylor and the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Nyoka Memorial Cemetery, Ironto, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
