William Hawkins Obituary

William Donald Hawkins, 71, of Wachesaw East, Murrells Inlet, S.C., died Sunday, November 1, 2009. Born December 17, 1937 in Pulaski, Va., he was the son of the late Mildred and Homer Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was a United States Air Force Veteran and had retired from the U.S. Dept. of Defense. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and the Murrells Inlet Elks Lodge. A daughter, Pam Hawkins preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Karen Hawkins, of Murrells Inlet; daughter, Kimberleigh White, of Roanoke, Va.; granddaughter, Pamela White of Roanoke, Va.; and a brother, Curtis Hawkins, of Pulaski, Va. Services will be 5 p.m., Thursday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Memorials may be made to Pam Hawkins Foundation, P.O. Box 1153, Princeton, W.Va. 24740. Lorie and I were shocked o learn of Don's passing. We were away at our daughter's wedding and regret that as your next door neighbors we were not there in your hour of need. May God bless you and the family in this time of grief.
