Rebecca Lumsden Obituary

Rebecca Lumsden, 102, of Glade Hill, Va., passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. She was born on July 1, 1907, a daughter of the late Jordan and Alice Dudley Perdue. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Lumsden; sisters, Geneva Perdue and Sallie Hoover; and brother, Dudley Perdue. Mrs. Lumsden taught school with the Franklin County Public School System for 42 years. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Jerre and Pat Lumsden; two grandchildren, John and Jim Lumsden; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009, from Flora Funeral Chapel with Elder Junior Conner and Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount, Va. www.florafuneralservice.com
