Claudine Henderson Obituary

Claudine Frances Reese, 85, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on November 6, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Henderson; and daughter, Betty Jean Henderson. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Bishop and husband, Wayne, Diane Matthews, Carolyn Dowdy and husband, Robert "Butch" Dowdy, all of Christiansburg; four granddaughters, Karen Brown and husband, Andy, Amy Marshall and husband, Scott, Cara Dowdy and Monte Pittman, Heather Dowdy Venteicher; greatgrandchildren, Allison and Carter Brown, Audrey Marshall, Sydney Pittman and Kyla Venteicher. Mrs. Henderson is also survived by two brothers, Roscoe E. Reese, of Greenville, Tenn., and Ruben East, of Ellett, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 8, 2009, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stan Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Special thanks to Hope Anders and Ashley Lucas, two loving caregivers, medical staff at Pulaski Health and Rehab, and Heritage Hall staff and administration. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24068. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.horne funeralservice.com.
