Barbara, Knew your mom Ida and maybe you too in Elliston. I was in same LGH nursing class with Carolyn and saw Brice as he visited her after our graduation. Not in contact for all these years but a wonderful memory of them.
Sincere sympathy. Ruth Glock (nee Apgar)

I first met Bruce Reid at University General Hospital in 1976 when he was selling supplies to an upstart hospital that was tight on cash. We had to "work the owners" in order to get him his money. Bruce and I used to regularly play golf at the Airco golf course by the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport. I could very easily out drive Bruce, but very seldom would win. He used to say it's not how far you hit the ball, it's how straight it goes. I would be all over the course and he would be right down the middle. It was a valuable lesson that he taught me in golf and in life. I will always fondly remember Uncle Bruce and the lessons he taught me.

I had the pleasure to work with and learn from our deer friend, Uncle Bruce. He is a part of my life every day that I am in my office, as we were both avid golfers and Chuck Ward had presented me with a golf ball with a clock in it for my ball rack, Bruce was not to be upstaged, so he hand signed a ball "Uncle Bruce". Both of these balls are in view daily when I happen not to be on the road and the wonderful friendship of the "Odd Couple" of Uncle Bruce and Chuck will live in my heart and memories forever. A few years ago I was in Tampa oon business and had the pleasure to have dinner with Bruce, Chuck and Jay Rothenberg. Talk about a great evening! Three of the healthcare industries finest allowing me to join them and talk about past, current and future events, it is an evening I will cherish forever.
There are several other photographs of Uncle Bruce in my office collection of memorabilia and each one ties to a story or a great laugh.
Having been one of the many who had the privelge of Bruce's warm and heartfelt welcomes and the true friendship that oozed from his body, I know that I am a lucky and better man for haveing known Bruce.
In the challenging world we live in, we need more Uncle Bruce's and he will be truly missed by all of us he touched, but he will forwever be in our hearts and never forgotten.

Where do I begin. I met Uncle Bruce in 1979. Bruce and I worked for the same company General Medical. I worked for General Medical for ten years before I transfered from Indianpolis, Indiana down to Tampa, Florida. I was the new kid in Tampa. Bruce was the manager at the time and the first person that I met. I will never forget that he welcomed me with open arms and a warm heart; he made me feel at home like I had worked in Tampa for years. I had the privelege of working with Bruce for many years. In all of my years in our business I had never heard Uncle Bruce have an unkind word for both friend or foe. I never heard an unkind word from friend or foe about Uncle Bruce as well. He had sense of humor that could light up a room. I can remember laughing for more that an hour with tears running down my face. I can still remember a joke or two. I now have tears in my eyes remembering a man that meant so much to me. Rest in peace Uncle Bruce. Be with Carolyn and in our hearts forever.

Unc B was a true southern gentleman, with kindness in his heart for all who knew him, a real friend for life, and we shared many good times putting and chipping "on the hill" at The Claw at USF ! We will miss you, buddy !
