To the Walker Family
I just wanted to send my condolences to you guys. I am sorry to have found out late or I definately would have paid my respects. I really looked up to Mrs. Walker as a Mother and wife. I spent a lot of time over your house in Roanoke when I was a teenager and you guys was a perfect example of Black love and loyalty. I did not see a lot of examples of that coming from the city to the county. You guys were like the Huxtables to me. LOL. David, I am sorry man. You know I love you and think about you a lot. Mr. Walker, you are a great example of manhood (father and husband) and God blessed you with a great woman. You are in my prayers also. Daryl and Eric....take care of yourselves and each other. Time will heal all wounds and I am sure that you will cherish her memory as will I.

To JD and Sons - when I heard about Ruth's passing from my Sister that lives in Roanoke, I was devastated. I remember back in the day when Jim & I, Dick & Emily, Frankie & Joan & Raymond & Brenda we all hung out together, those were some good times, I will always cherish them. Ruth was a lovely person, and I am so sorry that I didn't keep in touch over the years with her. At least you know there is no more pain and suffering for Ruth. God is an awesome God and he will never leave or forsake us. I hope things get easier and better for you in the days to come. I am sharing your sorrow in the loss of one so dear to you. May the lord bless and keep you.

To JD, David, Daryl and Eric I'm truly sorry for your loss. Ruth was a special, loving, kind & precious person. I will forever cherish my many young memories of her and all of you. Ruth was a blessing to all that had the priviledge to know and love her. But even in your sadness, I hope you can hold on to the thought that a life lived with so much love never really ends but goes on forever in the hearts of those who remember. To My Walker Family,
Ruth meant so much to me and my family. She was full of wisdom and the way she lived life is inspirational to me. She truly loved unconditionally. It's an honor to say she was Darrian and Noel's MaMa Ruth. I hope that they have inherited a small part of her humble loving spirit before she took it to heaven with her.

Dear JD, Eric, Daryl and David,
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember growing up and coming to your house and Ruth would always ask if I was hungry. I miss hanging out with all of you. To the family members of Ruth, I am so sad to see that Ruth passed away this past week. I worked with her at DDS from 1978 to 1985. We laughed and joked together. I have such fond memories of Ruth. She was full of spunk and spirit. God be with you.

Dear Cousins J. D., Eric, Darryl and Family;
Please know that you are in our family's prayers. We love you. Although we may not see you often, we think of you and have continued to think of you all recently. I saw Eric not long ago and it was so nice to speak with him. He expressed his desire to support his family and his mother through her illness. In our conversation Eric spoke about the power of prayer and how it had sustained his mother through so much. I know that you all will be a comfort and support to one another in days to come. Ruth was a very gracious lady who carried a warm smile accompanied by a warmer spirit. Her spirit prevails in memories and treasured moments that we remember. Take comfort in knowing that the Lord will sustain you and care for you through all. We will keep you in our prayers.
