Doris Davis Obituary

Doris Faith Evans Davis, born on May 28, 1938, in Elkhorn City, Ky., left us peacefully Wednesday morning, November 11, 2009, to be with the Lord. She was the daughter of Robert L. Evans Sr. and Claudia E. Evans. Dottie (as she was lovingly called by her family) leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Yolanda F. Davis; lifetime friend, Ginna P. Lusk; son, Roger L. Davis Jr. and wife, Colene; granddaughter, Alisa; brother, Robert L. Evans Jr. and wife, Carolyn; along with nieces and nephews. Dottie enjoyed quilting, reading and her children. She was a finance manager for Project Discovery until she retired in 2006. Many thanks to family and friends for their thoughts and prayers these last few days. Special thanks to staff and employees of Roanoke Memorial ICU and Hospice. Funeral arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel on Peters Creek Road. Visitation and memorial will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m.
