Michael Bryan Manning

Michael Bryan Manning, 41, of Olean Road at Goldbond, Va., departed this life on Tuesday evening, November 10, 2009, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Giles County on March 18, 1968, he was a son of the late Dewey Franklin Manning and Janie Surber Manning. He was retired on disability from the New River Valley Regional Jail as a Corrections Officer and loved the woods, the hunting, and most of all his family. He was a member of Pembroke Lodge No. 334, AF & AM. Bryan was preceded in death by his parents; and his older brother, Steve Manning. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Sherry Stump Manning; his children, Del Stump and Sarah Anne Manning, both of the home; his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela M. and Billy Davis, of Cashmere, W.Va.; his fatherin-law, Willard V. Stump, of Staffordsville; his mother-inlaw, Barbara Dalton, of Dublin; his sister-in-law and brotherin-law, Samantha and Billy Talbert, of White Gate; a special aunt and uncle, Ella Mae and Dewey Day; his good buddies, Mouse Strickland and Grant Snider; and a host of beloved friends, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and relatives. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 12, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. when a Masonic Service of Remembrance will be conducted.
