Charlotte Cook Obituary

Charlotte Mae Dix Cook, 92, of Wytheville, Va., passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Stella King Dix. She was a member of the West End United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John R. Wilkinson, Robert P. Cook; three sisters, Janie Williams, Clara Umberger, Ernestine "Johnny" James; one brother, Frank Dix. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Wilkinson and H. Ronnie Montgomery, of Jonesville; sons and daughters-in-law, William "Bill" and Mary Lou Dean, of Wytheville, Edd and Dorothy Dean, of Crockett; sister, Lucille Dix Gilbert, of Wytheville; sister-in-law, Bertha Dix; brother-in-law, Wiley James; five grandchildren and spouses, W. R. Dean, of Durham, N.C., Cynthia and Paul Iwashchenko, of Richmond, Lisa and Sam Jones, of Wytheville, Lorrie and Rusty Church, of Greensboro, N.C., Julie Montgomery, of Abingdon; five great-grandchildren, Meredith Jones, Hunter Jones, Alex Church, Harrison Church, and Emma Church; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service will be Friday, 1 p.m. in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Janet Richardson and the Rev. Ann Blair, with the interment in the West End Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jean Lester P.O. Box 958 Wytheville, Va. 24382 or to the Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 600 W. Ridge Road, Wytheville, Va. 24382. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

So sorry to hear about Granny Cook; She was a wonderful lady; I so enjoyed the times I spent with her while cleaning her house. Know she is in a better place now. I pray God will give you peace and mend your broken hearts.
