Helen Belcher Obituary

Helen Roope Belcher, 76, of Dublin, Va., passed away on Thursday evening, November 12, 2009, at the Pulaski Health & Rehab Center. Born on April 1, 1933, in Dublin, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Cecilia Harmon Roope. Her daughter, Linda Sue East Shouse; and brother, Roy H. Roope; also preceded her in death. She worked at the Highland Manor Nursing home as a dietarian technician for 20 years. She is survived by her husband , Mack Belcher, of Dublin; son and daughterin-law, John and Connie East, of Dublin; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall and Sue Roope, of Dublin, and Steve "Mac" and Betty Roope, of Dublin; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Roope Eadie and husband, Kelly, of Chapin, S.C.; and sister-in-law , Alice Roope, of Dublin. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Dublin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, November 14, 2009, at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
