Elizabeth Williams Obituary

Elizabeth Anna Secor Williams, 101, of Roanoke, Va., died on Friday, November 13, 2009. Beth was born on February 20, 1908, in Ridgway, Pa., the daughter of the late Herbert Stoddard Secor and Charlotte Pickering Secor. On March 20, 1931, she married David Williams who preceded her in death on January 5, 1982. She spent much of her adult life as a homemaker in Bloomfield and Sparta, N.J. before retiring to Roanoke. Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Lynne Fields; granddaughter and husband, Leslie and Randy Matney; greatgrandson, Jay Robertson, all of Roanoke; grandson, Thomas V. Fields IV, of Chelsea, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sonin-law, Thomas V. Fields III; her siblings and their spouses, Lorenzo Secor, Edith Secor, Herbert Allyn Secor (Bud) and Marguerite, Kenneth Secor (Kay) and Pauline, Helen Secor Heiden and Carl, John Secor and Evelyn, Harrietle Secor Wilkes (Happy) and Kenneth, Sanford Secor (Sam) and Myrtlemae, David Secor, Charlotte Jean Secor Smith and Charles. Memorials may be made to the Scotch Pine Garden Fund, c/o Nicholas, 6944 Scotch Pine Lane, Roanoke, Va. 24019. Funeral services will be held noon Monday, November 16, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. The interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
