Howard Johnson Obituary

Howard (Chuck) Johnson, Sr., 75, of Gladden Drive, Lincolnton, N.C., passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, N.C. Born March 29, 1934 in Botetourt County, Va., he was the son of the late Reuben Edward Johnson and the late Della Susan Williams Johnson. Mr. Johnson was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, a sister and three brothers preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Helen Johnson of the home; two sons, Harry Johnson of Fayetteville, N.C. and Doddle Johnson of Astro, Florida; three daughters, Jo Ann Broughman of Troutville, Carolyn O'Quinn of Fincastle, and Donna Arnold of Lincolnton, N.C.; two sisters, Pete Simpson of Fincastle and Lucille Baird of Salem; 14 grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, November 16, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan (254-3000). our prayers are with the johnson family.he treated our daughter alisha like she was one of his grandchilden.as she was growing upin the neighborhood.she played at his housewith all his grandkids.she called him grandpa. she said she will always remember him and love him.heaven got a good bit sweeter when he went home. the smith family god bless
