To the Walters,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember meeting Joey a few years ago over New Year's Eve. His love for God and strive to see everyone happy stole my heart. I thought of him often and waited for the opportunity to see him again. I am glad I was able to be touch by someone with so much life and love for others, even in that short amount of time. I know he will be missed, and I send my condolences to your family.

Revonda,

I'm truly saddened to hear of Joey's sudden death. I'm excited that I do not look at this as a tragedy, as it would only be a tragedy had Joey not lived well, which he did. In my short time at Eastern Montgomery, I was honored to be close to your son and enjoy his handshake often, as well as the great honor of having him as a player on our baseball team. I hope that this brings you closer to Truth and Life.

I have so many memories of seeing Joey in Walmart or just around town and he ALWAYS gave me a huge bear hug. He is giving everyone in heaven bear hugs now as we speak...and they love it! We will see him again one day and will spend forever together....now is just a short break for a little. God's grace IS sufficient and he gets to enjoy sweet Joey now just like we did. Praying for you Revonda, Greg and Kim. I love you.

Joey left an impact on my life. He always made me laugh and smile. He had a unique heart and vulnerability. These things made him more of a man than alot of the men we grew up around. I miss him, but am glad that he is resting like never before. This truth is more than a poem or song. It's reality. I will miss him, but am glad the LORD took him. The Lord now has him in his face presence. Joey will have alot of physical change now, but I really don't think the Lord will have to adjust his attitude much. I'm here to help bear the burden if I can. Love ya'll.

Dearest Greg,Revonda, And Kim,we know that Joey and Sam are working on a big catfish pond, It will be a Glorified one. Their having a blast, I'm sure. Praying for the Lord's healing comfort to surround you every day. Crystal and Mike

Joey was one of the sweetest most sincere people I have ever met. We are all blessed to have known him and have all been touched by his love for God and everyone around him. His hugs were the best :) Joey never met a stranger, so I know he is up in heaven hugging everyone he meets. I'm praying that you all find peace with God knowing that he is celebrating with Jesus.
Love you!

I am so sorry to hear of Joey's passing. I remember him well from my days at Shawsville Middle School and East Mont. He always had a smile on his face and a high five. He was an inspiration to those of us who knew him. I have not seen Joey since I moved to Salem, but I will always remember him. Joey was truly an unforgettable dude. His memory will go on in the hearts of all that knew and loved him.

Greg and Revonda,
I am so sorry to hear about Joey. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but, I hear he was a wonderful young man.
Losing a child is a terrible thing and I can't imagine what you both must be going through. I wish there were words to help you to heal but we know there are not. Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I will always think of you guys as two of my very special friends.

Greg,Revonda&Kim,
I will always remember playing punch bug w/ Joey almost everyday, he would always meet you at the car when you pulled up, and when Kim was driving one day something ran in front of the car (deer/dog) and she swurved ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD IN A CURVE AND STOPPED and Joey said, "Kim, the bible says Thou shalt not kill." I say just a few of these memories with a smile on my face just thinking about him. He was always full of soo much Love that some did'nt know how to handle him. I know you will miss him as will so many others. Be proud of the mirical that God let us keep for nearly 18 years, who we called Joey! Love & Praying for you all!

Well one thing I can say for sure is that there was no one else that could compare to Joey, he was truly a remarkable person. I will always remember the funny things he said and did and the laughs we shared together on the bus. He was my bus buddy he sat beside me almost every day until I started driving. I will miss you, always remember you, and I love you! I know your in heaven now and thats your new home, hope you like it there. Just try not to beat everyone at arm wrestling because I know you can. One day we will meet again and I will always remember the impact you made on my life.

Joey,
I remember when we did the pierats play in 7th grade haha you were so excited to play a rat/pirate and made me join as well against my will. I had a great time even though i whined through most of it. Throughout highschool you were always the one with a smile on even when no one returned them. Im sad that i will no longer be able to see you in the morning even on a monday and be excited. I know god has reserved a special place up there where you can practice all the curveballs you want. You will be greatly missed and graduation day i'll make sure to look up and smile...

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Traditional Lords Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen

Joey's Special Job:

A young boy named Joey, age 17, still so young, with so much more of himself to give,
But god called out his name, He said Joey for heaven is now were you shall will live.
God knew Joey was ready, and he knew the family would hurt, and feel so much grief,
But god knew the family would trust in him, so soon they would have understanding, and relief.
Try to understand that god had a special job in heaven that needed to be done,
and he picked Joey up in his arms, and took him to heaven because he was the chosen one.
He knew Joey was strong, and had a spirit of a true fighter, and the job he could surely do,
So just remember Walter family that Joey will always protect, and be watching over you.

My prayers are with the family, may you all in time find the answers to your questions on why he had to go so soon. As the poem said that I wrote for your family, I believe God had a special job for Joey. He will always live in your hearts, as well as your memories, may you all find peace in your time of loss, and sorrow. God Bless The walter family, those who met him, and his friends.
