Ramona Lohr Kite

Ramona Lohr Kite, a resident of Manassas, Va., since 1957, died on Monday, November 16, 2009, at her residence. Ramona was born on November 20, 1929, in Radiant, Va., daughter of the late Bernard Miller and Elsie Gibson Lohr. She was a 1948 graduate of Madison High School, Madison, Va., and attended Grace School of Nursing and Pan American Business College. She worked at C & P Telephone Company in Richmond, Va. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Manassas, Manassas Junior Woman's Club, and Evergreen Country Club, Haymarket, Va., where she won several ladies club championships. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard Daniel Lohr and Joseph Lee Lohr; and one sister, Bessie Lohr Weaver. Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, William Leyton Kite Sr., whom she married October 9, 1953, in Hampton, Va.; three sons, William Leyton Kite Jr., Robert Levert "Moe" Kite and wife, Lourdes, and Rodney Jon Kite; two granddaughters, Amanda Gayle Kite and Nancy Elizabeth Kite; one sister, Juanita Lohr Nash, of Richmond, Va.; 17 nieces and nephews; and one step grandson, James Rafael Fleckenstein. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009, with the Rev. Rudy Tucker officiating. Interment will be held 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Rose Park Cemetery, Wolftown, Va.
