Kenneth Hurley Obituary

Kenneth Boyce Hurley, 73, of Roanoke, Va., died on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in Korea and was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Vivian Wood Hurley. Surviving are four sons, Kevin Hurley and wife, Amanda, Eric Hurley and wife, Carla, Donald Hurley and wife, Tasha, and Toby Hurley; daughter, Mary Doyle; three grandchildren, Chad Hurley, Makayla Hurley, and Ava Hurley; brother, James Hurley and wife, Iryna; sister, Judy Garrett and husband, Danny; former wife, Anita Hurley; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Dr. Ken Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to a local VFW. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 20, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.

I am so sorry about the passing of Kenneth. I am sorry that I was not able to travel to Roanoke today but, I hope to visit soon. My Mother, Peggy, loved Kenneth and all of You. I'm sure that she and Aunt Pearl were waiting to welcome Kenneth to Heaven.

this is a very sad day,i had the great pleasure of being great friends with ken at both liberty and yellow cab,ken was one of kind always helping others,something told me to call him a few months ago and i didn't,we all need to make more time for our friends,i sure will miss him and i know his family will,my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends,i kinda knew he was sick by seeing his car parked at the V.A.,he was known as heyboy at liberty cab,god bless your family ken
