I am so sad to know he is gone. It just won't be the same. I loved him dearly and he will be so very missed. I am awed and not surprised at the number of lives he touched. How generous and true to form he was. It's nice to know that we share that bond with others. I take comfort in that. I am proud and honored to have known him and even more so to have been able to call him Uncle.

I'll miss Rick's teasing, his booming voice and his irrepressible spirit. Lucas reminds me of him. What I liked most about Rick was that he was, well... reliably Rick. I met Rick when I worked at the VA AFL-CIO, and have enjoyed knowing him ever since. Worked hard for what he believed in, but still knew how to laugh. I am so very sorry to learn of his death, and extend my deepest and sincerest sympathy to his wife and family, and his union brothers and sisters. He will be missed.
