Fannie LaEunice Gillespie

Fannie Gillespie Obituary

Fannie LaEunice Gillespie, 85, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 27, 2009. Born January 28, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Mallie Thompson and Blair A. Merritt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Gillespie Sr.; and a son, Roy L. Gillespie Sr. She was a faithful member of The Church of God, Catawba. Surviving are five children, James, Mary Ruth, Charles, Virginia, and Donald; sisters, Virginia and Ruth; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-greatgrandchildren. Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009, in the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home with interment in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 29, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
