Lucia Williams Obituary

Lucia Moir Williams, 69, of 409 South Pine Street, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 7, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Douglas Counsell and Katherine Smith Moir. A 1962 graduate of Converse College, she was a legal secretary with John C. Williams, Jr., Attorney. She was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent. Survivors include her husband, John C. Williams, Jr.; three daughters, Mary Stewart Putney and her husband Todd of Roanoke, Va., Meredith Williams Fitzgibbons and her husband Trevor of Washington, D.C., and Jennifer Williams of Mooresville, N.C.; two grandchildren, Grace Ellen Putney and Harrison Randolph Putney; a brother, William Stewart Moir of Manhattan KS; and a sister, Janet Moir McComas of Spartanburg, S.C. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A private memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg County Democratic Party, 275 East Henry Street, Spartanburg, S.C. 29306.
