Geraldine Lucas Obituary

Geraldine Naomi Lucas, 61, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at home with her loving family. Geraldine worked at Country Kitchen for 30 years. She is survived by two sons and daughtersin-law, John Joseph and Sheree Lucas Jr., and Steven Ray and Jennifer Lucas; daughter, Melissa Ann Adkins; brother, William Elvis McGuire; three sisters, Phyllis Tilley, Dorothy Faucette, and Patsy Dirk; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren also survive. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Otey officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by DeVilbiss Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 540-639-2422.

TO the Lucas Family,
I lived on Bent Mountain next to you.Your Mother was a very loving and caring person.She was my baby sitter.I don'nt know if Little Joe and Melissa remenber Tonya but you and Tonya would ride big wheels up and down the road.I have thought of her so mamy times and wonder where she lived.And I'm so sorry to hear of her passing I know she will be greatly missed.

I didn't know Geraldine personally. However, I have seen her many times at the restaurant and observed she was an excellent employee and dedicated to her job. Please know your loved one was appreciated for her dedication to serve others. My prayer is that God will bring you peace and comfort at this difficult time.
