Blanche Correll Obituary

Blanche E. Correll, 92, of Woolwine, Va., passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009. Mrs. Correll was born on October 8, 1917. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Dickerson; her mother, Sadie Dickerson; three sisters, Frieda Dickerson, Ocie Keith, and Elsie Radford; four brothers, Buster, Brud, Ras, and Paul Dickerson; her husband, James Milvern Correll; and three sons, Thomas, Joe, and Curtis Correll. Surviving are two sons and one daughterin-law, James Willard and Earlene Correll, of Wytheville, Va., and Kenneth Correll, of Owensboro, Ky.; one daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Clifford Belcher, of Stuart, Va.; two brothers, Charlie Dickerson, of Bassett, Va., and Chris Dickerson, of Floyd, Va.; 12 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Gerald Melton officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. The family will also be at the home of the daughter, Helen Belcher, 810 Jacks Creek Road, Stuart, Va. 24171. Memorials may be made to Smith River Rescue Squad, Sycamore Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be made at www.gardnerfuneralhomefloyd.com. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, Va.
