Karen Hale Obituary

Karen Melissa (Missy) Hale, 33, of Pembroke, Va., departed this life on Tuesday morning, December 1, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Missy had fought a long and hard battle for over 17 years with chronic renal failure and had always managed to bounce back. She was a graduate of Giles High School and had tried to further her education at New River Community College until her health would not permit. She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Robert E. "Bobby" Jr. and Shirley Mabe Hale, of Pembroke; her brother, Robert E. "Robbie" Hale III, of Pembroke; her sister and brother-in-law, Angela Kay and James Collins, of Pembroke; her paternal grandfather, Robert Estil Hale Sr., of Pembroke; and her niece and nephew, Harley Marie Brugh and Marshall Davidson Brugh, of Pembroke. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. before the services at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.

Missy fought a long and difficult battle. I was her nurse at CNRV several times and know she was a very special and well loved lady. My deepest sympathy to her family.
