Winston Stephens Obituary

Mr. Winston Harvey Stephens, 87, passed away in High Point, N.C., on Sunday, November 29, 2009. He was born in Montvale, Va., on April 19, 1922. He attended Roanoke College. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator over the Pacific. Winston was an avid golfer and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Adele Zimmermann Stephens, of High Point; his sister, Harriette Rothenberger, of Salem, Va.; two sons, Winston Stephens Jr. and his wife, Shery, of High Point, N.C., and Mark Stephens and his wife, Susan, of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Mackenzie and Katie Stephens; Luke, Leah and Rebekah Stephens; and Sarah Stephens McMurray and her husband, David; and two great-grandchildren, Trent and Asa Stephens. Memorials are requested to be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, N.C. 27262. Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Ave., High Point, N.C., is serving the Stephens family. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.mem.com.

Dear Adele and family,
Just checked the obits on line and saw about Steve. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember all the many good times we all had camping in our pop-upss, I have missed all of you since you moved from Maylin Hills. I am praying for each of you that you will move through these next days with courage and good memories.
