Johnny Clyde Brown

Johnny Clyde Brown, 88, of Glade Hill, went to be with his Lord Friday, December 4, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was the last surviving member of his family and was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Nephew Brown and Victoria S. Brown, sisters, Estelle B. Wilson, Dotsie B. Dillon, Gladys B. Byrd, Era B. Lumsden, and brother, Archie Brown. He was a member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 54 ½ years, Dorothy M. Brown; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda Brown Hodges and husband, Tommy; grandson, Brandon Shawn Hodges; granddaughter, Kelsey Marie Hodges; sisters-in-law, Madeline Brown and Elizabeth Maxey; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Bill Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Franklin Healthcare Center, Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, Dr. Amos and Dr. Callis for all their care and attention shown to Mr. Brown.
