Anna Cox Obituary

Anna Marie Altizer (Bee) Cox, 67, of Martinsville, Va., died on Monday, December 7, 2009, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 18, 1942, in Tazewell County, Va., to Felix Cole and Fannie Phipps Cole, both deceased. Mrs. Cox was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville and was employed by the Henry County Public Schools for 24 years where she enjoyed her special children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Danny D. Altizer; her second husband, Buddy Cox; sister, Charlotte "Chat" Ward; brothers, Robert "Fodge" Cole, Houston "Hoot" Cole, and Shelby "Sheb" Cole. She is survived by her son, David A. Altizer, of Roanoke, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett and other times at the home on Brentwood Road. The Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett with the Reverend Larry Cheek officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, N.C. 27017-7708. Arrangements are being handled by Collins-McKeeStone Funeral Home, Bassett. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.collinsmckeestone.com
