Kenneth, Preacher, & family
I just ran into Preacher at Wade's and learned today about Ellen. I am so sorry. I didn't really know Ellen very well, but Preacher is a very good friend of my husband's and mine, and also my mother, Henrietta Lewis Logan, was a good friend of Preacher & Syble's. Preacher & Syble knew each other from childhood (in Pennington Gap), and we went to church together for several years at Main Street Baptist. Please know my husband and I are praying for you, and even though it may not seem like it now, God's Grace will sustain you, and see you through these difficult days. Paul & Sharon (Logan) Sarver

Dear Dawson Family,
I just heard about Ellen's death. I enjoyed working with her at CHS. Her pleasant personality always greeted both staff and students in the Library. She will be missed. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh my goodness! I just heard about Ellen. I am so sad! You and Ellen have been special to my Kenny and me for a LONG time.....from grade school.....I will remember Ellen's quick wit and contagious smile. A neat lady... I feel fortunate to have known Ellen and called her my friend. I pray God will comfort you and your children with many wonderful memories that will keep her alive in your hearts. Dear Kenneth, Kathy, Angie, and family,
The funeral service today was beautiful, Ellen would have been so proud. She is also very proud of each and every one of you, for she knows that you will continue her legacy...to serve the Lord. It won't be the same to look over toward her seat during church services and not see her there. However, we must remember that she is still worshipping in that great mansion above, and we will join her someday. Until then, hang in there, be strong, and know that we all love you so much and are here for you. I am so thankful to have know Ellen and for her presence in my life. Take care.

Always a smile; always a kind word--this is how I will remember Ellen. She was a treasure and I am so blessed to have had a good friend like her as I went through those teenage years. She is one of my memories which brings a smile to my face.

Ellen was certainly a joyful opponent in the senior bowling league. We always enjoyed her presence at these Wednesday events.

I'm a 1994 CHS grad (we ran some track together back in the day) and I was a student library aide during study hall working along side your mom. She was always so meek, positive, funny and always encouraging - I will always remember that about your mom. I'm so sorry to hear about her passing. Thank you for sharing Ellen with me. The "Grundy Girls" outings have meant so much to all of us. She was the "spark" that ignited our good times and memories. As I told Liz and Gayle last night, we may continue, but we will never again be whole. I loved her like a sister.
