Howard Haynes Obituary

Howard (H.B.) Haynes, 73, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009. He attended Friendship Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Janice Lyons Haynes; six sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Tish Haynes, of Radford, Al and Kim Haynes, of Charlotte, N.C., Howard and Libby Haynes, of Richmond, Earl and Maria Haynes, of Lorton, James and Liz, of Plant City, Fla., and Roy Haynes, of Christiansburg; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Lisa and David Phillips, of Allisonia; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Haynes, Wayne and Joyce Haynes, and James and Peggy Haynes, all of Fairlawn; a sister and brother-in-law, Freda and Donnie Mullins, of Jenkins, Ky.; 14 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Jon Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at the funeral home. Janice and Family; I was so sorry to hear of the loss of H.B. I just learned of his passing. I worked with him at Harvey Chevrolet for many years and saw him numerous times thereafter. He was a wonderful man and always cut up with everyone. I'll always have fond memories of him and he'll be sorely missed by many, many people.
