Joselyn Foster Obituary

Jocelyn Dillon (Joyce) Foster, 81, of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2009. She was the wife of the late Franklin Devruex Foster. Born June 21, 1928 in Suhring, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Frank James and Thelma Ray Dillon. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank James Dillon II. She is survived by her sister, Meranda Ray Foster; daughters, Constance Hale, of Vinton, Andrea Mason and husband, Zack, of Lynchburg, Sandra Shank and husband, Boyd, of Salem, and Katherine Bishop and husband, Jim, of Roanoke; sons, Mark Hobson, of Roanoke, and Shannon Lacy, of Salem; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Our mother and friend will be deeply missed and remain in our hearts forever. A celebration of Joyce's life and faith will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Lakeside Baptist Church with Pastor Art Hearne and Pastor Mack Almond officiating. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Connie Bailey and the staff and volunteers of Hospice of the Hills of Lynchburg for their love and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Hills, 3300 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, Va. 24503. Diuguid Waterlick Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
