Earl Daniel Doran

Earl Daniel Doran, 87, of Daleville, Va. passed away Friday, January 1, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lutishe Doran and his wife, Carrie Leigh Cutty Doran. His brother Paul Doran; and nephew, Darrell Doran; and other nieces and nephews survive him. Mr. Doran was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Troutville, Virginia. He was a businessman, investor and world traveler. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a decorated veteran of campaigns in North Africa, Sicily and the D-Day invasion at Normandy. He received the Purple Heart for wounds incurred at Utah Beach. Friends will be received from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Rader Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the Rader Funeral Home in Daleville, Virginia with the Reverend Eric Slusher officiating. The family and friends of Mr. Doran would like to thank all of the great caregivers at the Glebe and Good Samaritan Hospice.
