Dear Pat and Penny, and Mike's Family,
My heart and prayers go out to you!
Penny, it's been so many years since I saw you ... and Pat, I'm so sorry that I and a lot of us ol' PMHS'ers never got to meet you. I was most shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I hadn't seen him since about 1970, but he was one of the finest men I ever knew. He was always kind, considerate, compassionate, and a real friend. It will always be special to me that my dad had an influence on Mike's going into the VA State Police all those years ago, I believe. The last time I saw him was in Dad's office in Augusta County, and he had not been in uniform for very long. This is surely a most difficult and painful time for you, but I rejoice that you/we will see him again ... We do not grieve as those who have no hope. God bless you and give you His comfort and strength in the days ahead.

Pat and Family:
When Mike and Carol were growing up in Buena Vista, their families were very close and Carol, at about 12 years old, would babysit Mike, at about 7 years old, while their parents would go fishing or camping together. We made a brief reconnection with him and his family when he moved to Franklin County.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you and the family during this time of sorrow and the days and months ahead.
