Goldie G. Frith Wright

Goldie G. Frith Wright, 75, of Callaway, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2010. Born on August 14, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Woodsey and Beulah Frith. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Callaway. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilkins Haywood Wright; and her two sisters, Louise Dillon Perdue and Sylvia Prillaman. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Donna Wright, and Bobby and Robbin Wright, all of Callaway; four grandchildren, Samantha (Brian) Strong, of Callaway, David B. Wright, of Roanoke, Ashley (Stephen) Edmondson, of Rocky Mount, and Jason Wright, of Philadelphia, Pa.; three greatgrandchildren, Konner and Karsyn Strong, and Tucker Edmondson; two brothers, Dan (Margie) Frith, of Henry County and Junior Frith, of Rocky Mount; three sisters, Lucille Turner, of Rocky Mount, Bertha Spicer, of Colorado, and Elsie Turner, of Henry County; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, from Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Walter Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Wright Family Cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to Penny Wright and Tawnya Grose for their loving support and tender care they gave to Goldie throughout her illness. Also, heartfelt appreciation to Carilion Hospice, Team Nurse, her registered nurse, Sherri McPeak, and special caregiver, Kitty Ruby. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Flora Funeral and Cremation Service, Rocky Mount, Va.
