Catherine Wright Obituary

Catherine Jean Brown Wright, 88, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Carrington Place at Botetourt. Mrs. Wright was a former resident of Elm Park Estates. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Wright Jr.; son, Charles Mark Wright; sister, Dorothy Brown Tandy; and brothers, David, Lloyd, George, and Bob Brown. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines and a former Realtor in the Roanoke Valley. She is survived by a daughter, Sarah W. Hollett and her husband, Jim, of Daleville; granddaughters, Emily H. Pitts and husband, Lewie, of Salem, and Angela H. Traynham and husband, Chris, of Bedford; her grandson, J. Brian Hollett, of Cloverdale; greatgranddaughters, Lola Hollett and Zoe Pitts; and numerous nieces and nephews including Dorothy Tandy Fulton, of Arlington, and T.K. "Tom" Tandy and wife, Rhoda, of Winchester. The family would like to thank the staff of Carrington Place in Botetourt County for all of their care and concern. The family suggests that memorials be made to the SPCA or the Roanoke Symphony. There will be no visitation or service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 540-366-0707.
