Allen Lynwood Martin

Allen Lynwood Martin, 68, of Chester, Va., passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by family on Thursday, January 7, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native of Ironto, Va., born the son of Arno Martin and Madeline Wren. Mr. Martin was a retired superintendent with ICI Americas and a member of the Bermuda Optimist Club. He is survived by his beloved wife, Velma Martin; three children, Dr. Allen Martin, Kevin Martin and wife ,Kerry, and Tracy Wilson and husband, Steve; five grandchildren, Kaitlin, Eleanor, Adam, Hannah and Abigail; sister, Karen Hunnings and husband, Robert; brother, Mark Wren and wife, Suzanne; sister, Debbie Christensen; brothers, Greg and Blake Martin; nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chester United Methodist where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 9, 2010, with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
