Bettie Danisch Obituary

Bettie Joan DeLong Danisch, 75, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with her Lord on Monday morning, January 11, 2010, at her home. Joan was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lelia DeLong; her brothers, Thomas C. DeLong and Lewis H. DeLong; and her husband, Herman J. Danisch. Surviving are her daughters, Sherri C. Sink, of Roanoke, and Sandy C. Moon, of Wilmington, N.C.; son, David T. Crowder and wife, Tina, of Vinton; grandchildren, Megan Slater, Kenzy Crowder, Kassidy Crowder and Brendan Draughn; and Jackson, the dog. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Jay Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Red Cross or Garden City Baptist Church in Joan's memory. Arrangements by Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221

Please know that you are with us in prayer. Joan was a dear lifelong freind of my mothers and she will be missed greatly. But she is in peace now with no suffering. She was an inspiration to us all. Call if you need anything.
