Words just can't express how much Mark will be missed. Mark touched so many people in so many dfferent ways. Even though I worked at the same call center with Mark, I truly didn't get to know him until we worked together in the Philippines. He was very knowlegeable about his work and took the time to teach and inspire the new hires that he "took under his wing" while in the training classes. Mark didn't forget these employees once they got out of training class. I can remember one time watching Mark calm someone who was having a hard time with a customer with his humor and grace. Mark and I also talked about our love of football; I can only see Mark saying right now that UCLA will now beat USC because now they have Lane Kiffin and that now they may win a PAC-10 championship. Even though Mark is no longer with us physically, he will continue to live with some of us thru the knowledge, humor and work ethic that Mark has helped instill in the people he has touched during the life that he led. Mark: until we meet again my dear friend!

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Mark was seriously one of the funniest people I've ever met. I remember several times at work, the both of us laughing so hard & no one else had a clue what we were laughing at... I have other good friends at work, but there is no one in this world like Mark. I miss my friend.

I met Mark on the plane enroute to the Philippines. He was special and loved his work. Mark was a kindhearted person. Mark had a great personalilty. We talked about football and golf during our time there. It was a pleasure working with Mark during our stay in the Philippines. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time.

January 16, 2010

I met Mark last quarter of 2008 when he came to support the up-training of Wachovia Customer Care here in South East Asia , Manila Philippines. "Unca Mark" as how we call him. All I can say is Unca Mark is one of the most caring, sweet, smart and the friendliest person I ever worked with. He brings the smile in the group and he realy does this crazy dance that makes us all laugh our hearts out.

I was shocked upon hearing what happened as a good friend of mine, Melo from Wachoia, messaged me that our dear Unca Mark has gone to the next life.

My sincerest condolences to Mrs. Deborah Lewis and her Family. My prayers are with you all the way.

Unca Mark, your memory with us will always be remembered.

You are now one of the stars I look up to every night.

We love you Unca Mark!!

Mark was super hilarious and had an upfront way of communicating. He would come to my desk and ask me for snacks and we have chatted a few times while eating ranch sunflower seeds and mandarin oranges. For Christmas he came to my desk and ramshacked a block of my cadbury chocolate bar. Only Mark could have gotten a way with that. The little time that I did get to know him was wonderful. Many of us will miss him!

Mark and I were both transplanted here in Texas with Allstate. I came from Ohio and he from California. We both bonded over having the same sense of humor. I met his wife Debra and we became fast friends. When Debra went to persue her dream in teaching, we kind of lost touch, but I often think of the memories of our times together. Mark you will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with you always.

I had the privilege of working with Mark at Wachovia. Early on, he earned the respect of his peers and of the the entire team with his calm but determined approach to his work. Mark was recognized as bringing something special to our group. His experience, his knowledge, his heart and his common sense approach to problems was invaluable to our business.
To Mark's family. Thank you for sharing him with his extended Wachovia "family" for a time. May you find comfort in your memories and may God grant you His peace even as you grieve this immeasurable loss in your lives.

More than the handsome face
More than the amusing humor
More than the exceptional knowledge
More than his dedication to work
More than his drive to motivate others
More than his determination
It is simply his life
That will leave a MARK on our lives
His undying spirit and strength will always be with us...
May the Good Lord continue to bless his loved ones left behind
Yes, we will mourn for your death uncle Mark
For we are saddened by the loss of such a dear friend
But your life served a great inspiration to us who are left behind
May you rest in peace, uncle Mark

During his brief stay in the Philippines, our class had the privilege of having Mark as our designated coach. The big man's fountain of knowledge and experience, willingness to help and his wry sense of humor were his most endearing qualities. I personally got to know him and counted him as one of my friends and his passing was a shock to me knowing someone full of life gone so suddenly. I remember fondly how much he wanted to go back and visit my hometown Liliw again (for the authentic Italian cuisine and looking for a pair of sandals that would fit his humungous feet).

I had lost my father less than 2 years ago and I know his loving wife Deborah hurts most of all.

Deborah, my deepest condolences, speaking in behalf of my peers, thank you to you and to the big man for all the support. He will be missed.

My heart is truly heavy in hearing the news about Mark. We worked together at the EHC/ATSC in Irving. I was stunned when Lovie called to tell me.

Mark was a wonderful colleague. I had the pleasure to work with him when he came to Alabang (the Philippines) to work on this international start-up. He had a sense or urgency that I will always remember. He wanted to see the Alabang site progress and he executed his work through the people of this site. Mark had an incredible and positive impact on the Alabang call center because he cared about the business and understood the key to the business success was through the people. He is missed. I know his family in the U.S. miss him, and there are 400 people in Southeast Asia who are also missing our friend, mentor, colleague, subject-matter-expert, and partner. Deborah, I don't know the words to express how sad I am. Mark was very special, to me personally and to many others who knew him. I'll miss him terribly. Mark is in my prayers, as are you and your family. May God bless and comfort all of you.
