Babe & Family,

This is a poem that I(Mariah) wrote a few years ago when my granny passed away. I think that you all will appreciate it and Im sure that Mrs. Otey will be cherished in your hearts like a beautiful red rose.

The Rose

From the beginning
you budded in the earth,
like an eagle spreading its wings,
during an unknown birth.

Now, you rise to perfection,
with the fragrance of perfume,
like the valleys and the mountains.

With so much beauty and so much room,
watching you until I die,
you are the rose and that's no lie!
