Mary Catherine Armbrister Farrell

Mary Catherine Armbrister Farrell, 89, of Albuquerque, N.M., and formerly of Evanston, Ill., died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at the Carefree Living Facility in Albuquerque. Catherine was born in Draper, Va., a daughter of the late Wesley and Maude Armbrister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Farrell; two brothers, Phillip Armbrister and George W. Armbrister; and a sister, Janet Armbrister. She is survived by a son, Richard L. Farrell, of Placitas, N.M.; two sisters, Peg May, of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Clara Mae Smith, of Roanoke, Va.; a sister-in-law, Ann L. Armbrister, of Draper, Va.; a brother, David Armbrister and wife, Patra, of Draper, Va.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Catherine was a graduate of Montreat College and was employed by Uptown Savings and Loan in Chicago for 35 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Evanston. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2010, at the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church. Pastor Bob Davis and Assistant Pastor Roland Mathews will officiate.
