William Parks Obituary

William Parks, 87, of Salem, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010. He was born to the late Thorton and Blanche Parks. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Annie E. Parks. He is survived by his long time companion, Dorothy Brown; daughter, Marshall Washington (John Thomas); granddaughters, Rosa Maria Davis, Demaria Gates (Terry Gates); grandsons, William P. Parks, Antwain Rumley, Anthony Rumley; a host of great-grandchildren; nephews, Daniel (Jimmy) Parks, David Williams (Barbara Hopkins) and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph A. Keaton officiating. The interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may call on Tuesday afternoon for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.Hamlar-Curtis.com.

I was just on the phone with my grandpa on Tuesday laughing and joking with him about the twin boys I gave birth to in August. He couldn't wait for us to come down so he could see them. I know he is looking down on us right now smiling. Rest In Peace Dad!
