Virginia Wells Obituary

Virginia Callahan Wells, 83, of Wytheville, Va., passed away at Edgemont Center on Thursday, January 14, 2010, with family members at her side. She was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Laura H. Callahan. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church on Cassell Road where she taught Sunday School and worked with Missionettes a young girl's class for many years. She was retired with 40 years of service from United InterMountain Telephone Company, where she began working at age 16 during World War II. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Annette Cecile Fountain and Tiffanie Dawn Wells. She is survived by her sister, Annie Crouse, of Wytheville; three grandchildren and spouse, Tammy and Nathaniel Hughett, of Max Meadows, Debbie Haywood, of Wytheville, and Jamie Via, of Wytheville; six greatgrandchildren, Brittney Tickle, Audrey Hughett, Amber Rose, Jake Hamm, Ross Via and Mason Via; two great-greatgrandchildren, Aiden Rose and Casen Rose; special niece and husband and caregivers, Susie and Larry Govin, of Max Meadows; special cousin, Ethel Mae Bowling, of Oak Hill, W.Va.; special friends, Doris Testerman, Doris and Clarence Clemons, Nancy and Christy Jackson, Joyce Moore, and Wesley Grubb; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2010, in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dan Moore and David Lephew with the interment in the Lebanon Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home on Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. or at the home of Sue and Larry Govin at 114 Pearl Lane in Cartersville Heights, Max Meadows. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Just would like to say that my thoughts and prayers goes out to all my family,especially to Aunt Annie,Mom
and Dad I would like to thank each one of you for all that you have done for Ginny it will never be forgotten. She couldn't have asked for any other person to take as much care of her then you all did. I wish I could be there my hearts are with you all. Ginny will be missed by alot of people especially me she was like my own grandmother if I needed anything or just to talk to she was there. Ginny I love you and hope to see you again one day.
