Dear Donald & Family,
My profound condolences to you and your family on the passing of your mother's. While I did not know her personally, it is as if I did. I really enjoyed listening to you tell me stories about her life but most importantly it is the unspoken word that led me to know how special she was. The mere fact that she raised you to be such a wonderful person amidst a world that is so filled with challenges, attest to the fact of her virtues and compassionate nature. Also, the lovely tributes that were spontaneously given by so many futher validates her good nature. Donald, this may be of small comfort but I loss my mother just a few years ago and I am still grieving over the loss. Rest assured, though, the pain gets less and less as time progresses. May God grant you and your family the courage to assuage your suffering. May her rich legacy continue to live on through you and the rest of the family.
Love,
Debra Smith

Donald,

Through the years I have experienced no greater pain than the loss of my mother. Trust me when I tell you God will hold you in His arms and help to ease your pain. Whether its seeing someone who looks just like your mother, smelling her perfume, or hearing her voice--God will do it for you! Just ask Him!

The next time I see you ask me about the time I saw my mother driving a van behind me on my way to work!

May God continue to shower blessings on you and your family.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

My God continue to bless and comfort the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
