Bette E. Kerr

SALISBURY - Bette Eileen Kerr. Loving wife and mother, Mrs. Bette Eileen Kerr peacefully slipped away into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 6, 1941 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of the late Lafayette Beardon Ray & Lucille Legge Ray. Mrs. Kerr graduated from Eisenhour Central High School in 1957. She worked for Advance Newspaper, where she was the youngest member of the Illinois Press Association serving as secretary and bookkeeper. Most recently she worked in private home care, retiring from Gentiva. She attended Salisbury Bible Methodist Church and was very active in Right to Life and the Republican Party.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Walter Ray.

Survivors: Husband: Russell Theodore Kerr whom she married June 17, 1962; daughter: Anita Kerr Dalkin and husband Gary of Dorset, England; brothers: Richard Ray and Russell Ray both of Decatur, IL.; sister: Marilyn Ray Jargon, of Decatur, IL.

Visitation: 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday at Salisbury Bible Methodist Church, Salisbury.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Tuesday at Salisbury Bible Methodist Church, Salisbury conducted by Rev. Leroy Archibald, Rev. B.J. Walker and Rev. Rick Perry.

Burial: Salisbury Bible Methodist Church Cemetery, Salisbury.
