Susanne Evershed Obituary

Susanne Barbuto Evershed 5/24/1952 ~ 3/5/2008 Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep in Sandy, UT. She was born on May 24, 1952, in Salt Lake City to Beth Porter Dority and Lloyd F. Walters. Susanne was a very intelligent woman and accomplished much in the 55 years of her life. When she was five years old her family moved to Solothurn, Switzerland, the home of her stepfather, Rolf Meyer. Susanne was raised in Switzerland until she decided to return to Utah at the age of 18 to become reacquainted with her extended family in the Salt Lake Valley. Susanne spent most of her adult life working in administration in the health care industry and later fulfilled a dream of owning her own business as a Master Esthetician. Some of her favorite pastimes included getting together with her family for dinner and card games, and she loved to go shopping and talk on the phone with her daughters. She loved the ocean and always said that she felt at peace on its shores. Susanne had an infectious personality and had a wonderful sense of humor. She also had a great ability to show concern and understanding for others when they were in need. She had a wonderful and giving heart. She is survived by her children, Pascal (Robyn) Meyer, Jason (Courtney) Evershed, Monique (Jimmy) Richards, Nicole (Ryan) Ostler, and Tommy Evershed, along with three siblings, several aunts, cousins and other extended family members. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and an ever-expanding posterity. She was married to Richard Evershed in 1973 (later divorced) and John Barbuto in 2004 (later divorced). She was preceded in death by her mother and father. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 10th from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m.; both at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 So., Sandy. Interment in Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

You have the most awsome mom. We met when she came to work for the LDS Church and became roomates. We lived at Gray Avenue in Salt Lake, and I have many great memories of those days. I want you all to know that your mom loves you very much, and you will see her soon again. Just wish I could have seen her before she left. Your Mom is the most fun loving person I have every met. She brought laughter and sunshine into everyones life. You are all in my prayers.

Suzanne was a lovely woman. I worked with her at Dr Morale's office and also became one of her clients. She was so kind and encouraging to me during a very difficult time in my life. I am so sorry for your loss.
