Dear Jan and family -- I was deeply saddened by the news of Bob's passing. We spent many moments together and I can say that Bob was one of a kind in being funny when appropriate and sincere when need. I will miss him and I will miss seeing you at future credit union events. God bless you and your family. Sincerely, Bill Smith, Coastal FCU, Raleigh, N.C.

Jan,
Judy and I share your sadness with Bob's passing. He was a very good friend to credit unions all across America. He worked very hard to improve our ability to serve our members and make their lives better. Please know that all of us at Coastal Federal Credit Union will forever remember our dear friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Bob was a great friend of our family for many years especially my father, Gus. He will be missed by everyone he touched. Tooele has lost one of its finest people. Sorry we could not be at the service but are at our winter home in California. My mom is now living in Denver and sends her sympathies.

Robert was a decent man who served his community well.
When I read his obituary today I smiled and thought, "Mission Accomplished."
Robert's life was a great example of community stewardship, leadership, integrity, and excellence, and especially so for our new generation of up and coming Utah Democrats.
Please accept my condolences.
With every best wish,
Bruce Whitehead

Dear Jan, please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Bob. We have known him since the 1970s through his good friend, the late Jack Christensen. As many before have said, Bob was a kind, gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor. There aren't many like him who come our way. Kind regards,Bruce and Maria Whitehead, Salt Lake City

I had the opportunity to meet with and talk with Bob a number of times in my work with California's credit unions. He was always looking out for the good of the people and not for personal glory. Bob was what a true public servant should be. While credit unions lost a good friend, his family lost a really good man. My prayers and thoughts are with you today.

I was fortunate to have worked with Bob for the last 3 years. He was a great person, a great mentor and someone who I could always get straight and thoughtful advice from. I will miss him very much. Jan and Sarah, I am so sorry for your loss.

Uncle Bob, I'll never forget the night you stayed over at our house in Salt Lake. You had just won a boat for a "hole in one" and prize money for being closest to the pin. You down-played everything. You were way too modest. You were a fun loving, great guy. You showed me that life experiences were more important than accomplishments. You're life seemed rich with both.

We are sorry your partner moved on.
He is the last of the "Tooele Dirty Dozen". Bob stopped by the shop two weeks ago. What a nice chat we had.
We are proud to be your friends and remember all the fun times we've had.
Denise and I are in Sun City moving my folks to their next stage of life. We are sorry but we will miss Bob's funeral ceremony. We both wanted to give you a big hug and be there for you.
FINAL THOUGHT: Bob and I talked briefly about aging and dying in our last conversation. This is how he wanted to go out. No long term problems, no burden; just go.
With our sincere sympathy,
Doug and Denise

Uncle Bob was a fun guy. Although it had been about 6 years since I saw him last I will always remember his smile. He was such a happy guy. Our thoughts are with Aunt Jan, Stephanie & Steve Ryan.
We love you and will miss Bob.
