James McMillan Obituary

James McMillan 1940 ~ 2008 James McMillan, passed away peacefully at home on Sat., August 2, 2008 after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer.Jim was born to Lillias and Walter McMillan on March 19, 1940 in Elyria, Ohio and soon moved to American Fork, Utah. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary; sons, Clifford McMillan (Barbara), James Jr. (Trish); his daughters, Jeanie Rampton (Scott) and Maggie Hollinger (Loren); one sister, Barbara McMillan, six step-children, stepdaughters, Kathy, Teresa, Jodie, and Jenny; stepsons, James and Jonny; 11 grandchildren and 15 step-grandchildren. Jim was a gifted and successful inventor with marvelous creative ideas. Jim had a remarkable passion for helping others. Jim loved to snowbird to Arizona. He found peace on the desert with his wife Mary and friends. With 18 years of sobriety, Jim was very proud to be a member of Alcoholic Anonymous. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and devoted to his church and The Divine Mercy. Jim asked for his body and eyes to be donated to Science and Research at the University of Utah. Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Edward McMillan, and an infant son, Douglas McMillan. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church located at 3560 W. 3650 S. Lancer Way, West Valley City, on Sat., August 9th, 2008 at 10 a.m. A special thanks to Trish and Jennifer for their many hours of dedication to Jim's special needs. Also to Intermountain Hospice for their loving care.
