Zachary Marold Obituary

Zachary Franklin Marold 8/25/1985 ~ 2/25/2009 Zachary Franklin Marold. Born August 25th 1985, son, brother, grandson, and friend to all, passed away Wednesday February 25th 2009. Zach was survived by his parents Frank Marold and Julie( Robert) Terry, Siblings; Anthony (Bequi) Chidester, Rob (Michelle)Terry, Cynthia (Rodger) Burgees, Grandparents William and Diane Stafford, Frank and Sarah Marold. Many cousins, friends, nieces, and nephews will miss him dearly. We rejoice at his reunion with his brother Chaskin Chidester who preceded him in death. Zach's kind loving soul touched each one of us in a way no one else on this earth could. Zach's best friend and love was Ashlee Baer who brought him much love comfort and joy. Ashlee writes; "I will always remember how much you loved to camp, being in the mountains, Mr. rugged out- doorsy man. Getting dirty was your favorite thing. I love you! You always were, and always will be the perfect man for me." Zach also loved football, and excelled greatly at it. He was "AII State, First Team" at Brighton High School 2003 and was a member of the 2005 U of U football Fiesta Bowl team, after which he transferred and was a two year starter at University of Montana Western where he was planning to finish his senior year as a student coach. Zach's father taught him to play at a young age where he stayed on the field with him, picked him up, and pointed him in the right direction. He followed every team Zach played on, and never missed an opportunity to support him. Zach loved and admired his father in every way. Zach's beloved Grandma and Grandpa Stafford throughout his years, never missed a game, in fact Friday nights the whole family gathered to see him in his glory, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, it seemed like the rest of the weeks events paled in comparison to game night. His brother Anthony got him interested in bass guitar, taught him a few basics, and with Zach's relentless drive and ambition, (along with countless hours of practice), taught himself to play and excel at it. We enjoyed many family jam sessions with Zach and Anthony on guitar, Mom on harmonies, and a bit of "Ice Ice baby" in the background from his stepfather Bob. He brought much love and laughter to our home. Zach amazed us with his dog training skills, he had two beautiful dogs Leila and Tommy Mo who explored the beautiful mountains with him and Ashlee. Zach meant well in everything he did in his life. He dearly loved and confided in his Mother and recently told her "you can always tell the mark of a man by shaking his hand and looking into his eyes". He worked hard to be that man. Zach was that man and so much more to all of us. He could melt his mother's heart with the kindness and love he held and showed towards others. We all tugged at him vying for his attention. Zachary we love, admire and respect you beyond words. You will be dearly and closely held in our hearts, and embedded in our souls until we re-unite. Funeral services for Zach will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E Bengal Blvd. Viewing Monday, March 2nd, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cannon Mortuary and the day of the service from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. We welcome all friends and family to join us, and thank you for your kind and loving support.

Frank,
We just heard of your tragic loss, words cannot begin to express the sadness we feel for you and your family. The first we heard of Zach, was Tanya telling us in third grade she had met this really cool kid. We will remember with joy the great times the kids had playing basketball with you coaching them.
We hope the love of your family and friends will sustain you.
with our deepest sympathy,
Joey and Panna Goott Palm Desert Ca.

I had the great pleasure of working briefly with Zach on a couple of film productions. He worked with me and my friends in the art department. I was impressed by his work ethic and his wonderful sense of humor. He was a joy to have on our team and I looked forward to having him back again and again. I am stunned and saddened by this loss. Though I don't know his family, I can understand the great love they have for this exceptional young man.

I have known Frank Marold for several years. If there is ONE thing that I have ever known about Frank, it is that he loved his son Zach. His eyes always lit up when he talked about him. It was evident that Zach was, and, always will be the light of his life. Frank can always know that no father ever loved his child more.

Much love, Julie Umphrey

Frank From one father to another, this is gut wrenching...i hadn't seen Zach for years but judging from all the comments on this site you did a great job as he made a big impact on people's lives in a very short amount of time and i hope this is comforting...you and your family are in my thoughts now and forever...take care Koz

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Zach's family as well as his special family of friends. I know Tom holds their friendship dearly in his heart, and as Tom's parents we understand the deepness of the loss. Zach was always such a gentleman - he always called me Mrs. Chalmers eventhough I kept insisting he call me by my first name...He really was a good person and we're thankful he was a part of our life. We wish you peace and comfort.

I am so sorry about this tragic loss. I knew Zach from 7th grade on... He and James Freed showed up on my door step and I had a huge crush on Zach we even went "out" for like a week. :) I will miss him and I work with his beloved Ashlee so his memory will stay alive. I was out of contact with Zach until I saw him breifly at a company party, he was still the same smiling Zach I remembered! Frank, you are a great (long time) friend of the family and my parents have the most sincere prayers for your family. I hope that you find comfort in being around people who love you and loved Zach. I know that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be with you. Amen.

Frank, I sit here looking at Zach's picture just remembering all the times I would walk outside of my house and see you two together...

I had the opportunity to watch Zach grow up, he and Frank lived right next door my family. There was always something going on at that house. He was the "cool kid"!! That thought makes me smile!! Everytime I would see him he would take the time out to talk to me, asking about my family. I remember after my father died, Zach came over to offer his condolences and we sat on my parents front porch and he told me some great stories he had of my father.

It's been a while since I have seen him, but I will always remember that the minute you did see him, it was like time had never passed.

He grew from being a fun loving young boy to an amazing man. I will miss you Zach...

I can't believe this happened! Frank, you are a wonderful person and you raised an amazing kid. I feel for you in this time of tragedy.

Zach was my neighbor and we grew up together. The guy pretty much taught me how to play basketball. I personally owe him a debt of gratitude for shaping the aspects of my character and who I am today. He was the "cool kid" everyone wanted to hang out with. It was unfortunate that we drifted apart over the years but I would still see him every now and then at parties or concerts. I have so many fond memories of him and he will NEVER be forgotten.

March 1, 2009

Zac was an AMAZING person.... He was truely an angel sent from god, to anyone and everyone. The exchange of advise and respect that Zac and I held was of nothing that I can even begin to explain. He will be dearly missed.
My prayers go out to Ashlee, my old friend, and his family... and also all those out there who have been truely touched by this amazing man.

Gods speed; With Love,

Dear Frank and Julie -
We are so saddened to hear about Zac. When he was dating our daughter Taryn in junior high and high school we gained such love and admiration for him. He was so kind hearted and a complete delight to have around our family. He always spoke so highly of his mom and dad whenever his family was discussed. We know he will be greatly missed by you and and send our love and prayers your way.
