My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your loved one. I knew Rene from Luxello Hall. Some friends and I happened upon the hall one night thinking we were walking into the Hanging Tree. The place had just had a private Christmas party and they were cleaning up, but Rene was so warm and welcoming. He invited us in for a cold beer and aplogized about how cold it was in there. He then told us all the stories about the hall and even gave us the grand tour. We loved the place and this man from that first night. We have been back a few times, but not recently. I am so saddened to not have spent more time, he always remembered you when you walked in the door no matter how long it had been. It's pretty amazing that you can know someone for such a short time and feel such a great loss.
He truly was as wonderful as all these people are saying he was.

Rene was a force of energy and passion who lighted the way for everyone he came in contact with. For fraternity brothers who knew him well or just met him once or a few times (like myself). The time that I have known Rene has been deeply apprieciated and could not help but to accept his friendship which he rapidly became like a brother to me. To my Aunt Bertha, Uncle Henry and Cousins. I know that no words can soften the pain and loss you must feel. I do want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. When I think of Rene I think of broad smiles, a warm summer night sky filled with stars and a heart as BIG a TEXAS. Rene was always smiles especially when he saw his little princess Haily.
