Gordon Lewis Miller, 75, passed away Wednesday at the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center.
Born in Gordon, Oct. 12, 1941, he was a son of the late Irvin and Miriam Lockett Miller.
Gordon was a free-spirited adventurer, in the 1960s living in the Haight-Ashbury district of California, where he owned and operated a florist shop. Feeling the need to explore, he later moved north to Alaska to try his hand at homesteading. After a fire destroyed his cabin and possessions, Gordon eventually returned to the area, and he was employed at the Mountain City Diner as a cook until his retirement. In his spare time, Gordon enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with his friends at the manor.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Schoffler Tye, and a brother Leo "Ab" Miller.
He is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and several loving friends.
