John J. Boxer, 66, of Shenandoah, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at home.
John was born April 3, 1955, in Shenandoah, a son of the late Anna Marie (Sposito) and Joseph Boxer.
He was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah, where he excelled in wrestling. He attended the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Shenandoah.
John was retired, having last worked as a code enforcement officer for the Borough of Shenandoah and Gilberton Borough. Early in his career, he was an equipment operator in the construction industry.
John enjoyed spending time in his garage, detailing and painting both automobiles and motorcycles. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a former PIAA swimming official. On dry land, he was a well-known pool shark.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sandra (Adams) Boxer; by his children, a daughter, Jennifer, of Florida; a son, Eric Boxer and his wife, Holly, of New Ringgold; a son, Jordan Boxer and his wife, Krystal, of Schuylkill Haven. Two sisters survive, Joann Jacavage, fiancee of Jo Jo Mariano, of Shenandoah, and Maria Boxer and her partner, Tom, of Saint Clair. He is also survived by seven grandchildren whom he adored and loved spending time with, Dominik, Sara, Grayson, Robyn, Lucas, Max and Natalie; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; by his beloved Maltese, Sherry.
