Henry E. Wiscount, 76, of Llewellyn, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg, with his family at his side.
Born March 8, 1947, in Branchdale, he was a son of the late Aloysius and Margaret (Searle) Wiscount.
Harry was a 1965 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, after which he enlisted in the Army. He was employed for 42½ years as a purchasing agent at the former Richmond Screw and Anchor, now known as Dayton Superior, Tremont.
He was a member of the former St. Mary's Star of the Sea, now Holy Family Parish, Minersville; American Legion Lodge Post 468, Tower City; one of the founding members of the Second Expense Hunting Club, Sullivan County; lifetime member of the Citizen's Fire Company, Branchdale; lifetime member of the Muddy Creek Sportman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf several times a week with his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Patricia (Butensky) Wiscount, on June 1, 2010; two sisters, Margaret (Wiscount) Schinkel and Mary Eleanor (Wiscount) Klein; a brother, Aloysius Wiscount.
Surviving are two sisters, Diane Miller, wife of late husband, Frank, of Tremont, and Vivian Gogno and her husband, Frank, of Brier City; companion, Helene O'Connor; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends can call at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville, from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church of Holy Family Parish, 139 Spruce St., Minersville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Harry's honor. Burial with military honors will be held in St Mary's Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Cemetery, Llewellyn.
