Jessica Teutsch Obituary
HAUGHTON, LA - "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
A celebration of life for Miss Jessica Elise Teutsch, 21, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Faith Chapel of First Baptist Church, Bossier City, with Rev. Aaron Dickinson officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held 3-6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Haughton. Jessica went home to be with the Lord as the result of a tragic car accident.
Jessica was a resident of Haughton, Louisiana, and graduated Salutatorian of the Class of 2005 at Haughton High School. Jessica was a Senior Music Education Major and Honor Student at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.
Jessica's love for her family, friends and the Lord were always obvious. Jessica loved her friends at ETBU, Haughton, as well as the Turning Point College Ministry of Eastwood. God granted her the gift of music and she used this gift to honor the Lord and help others worship Him. Jessica sang in both the Chapel Choir and Concert Choir at ETBU as well as Captured and the Summit Praise Team at Eastwood Baptist Church. Music was Jessica's love and she wanted others to know of her Savior through the music she sang. Jessica's desire posted on Facebook was: "I want to fall more and more in love with Christ everyday-I couldn't imagine my life without Him!"
Jessica is survived by her parents, Dr. Scott and Lisa Teutsch, brother Luke Teutsch and sister Hannah Teutsch; Maternal grandparents R.L. and Liz Harkins of Springhill, LA; Paternal grandparents Connie Ray and Irma Teutsch of Springhill, LA; Aunts and Uncles: Anita and Jeff Davidson of Carthage, TX; DeAnna and Dee Brister of Alexandria, LA; cousin Courtney Chalker of Panama City, Florida.
Pallbearers will be Jefferson Hayden, Ken Jenkins Jr., Josh Rosier, Chad Burgess, Trent Saucier and Austin Elgin. Honorary Pall Bearers will be ministerial staff/Deacon Pastors of Eastwood Baptist Church and mission pastors/staff of Eastwood Baptist Church.
A special thanks to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Paramedics, ETBU Administration, Staff and Student Body and a special thanks to our angel on the scene, Tammy Simmons.

My thoughts and prayers are with you I have a 21 year old an 19 year old. I can't fathom the sorrow you feel now. It is hard to be a pastor when you are also a parent. God knows your pain. Jessica was a wonderful person who shared her love of Christ and her love of her family everywhere she went and with everyone that she met. Her tragic loss is such a great loss for all of us who are left behind, but it is Christ who gains by having Jessica. Bro.
