Let me first start by saying my heart goes out to Shawn's family and all of us that had the pleasure of knowing him. Shawn was a great man with a big heart. My mind is flooded with memories and I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I remember the first time I "formally" met Shawn, it was at the juke box at My Way in Pawnee. It was an encounter that still makes me laugh out loud. That moment in itself would set the tone for the rest of our relationship. There was never a dull moment where Shawn was concerned, whether it was out partying or just sitting around. It was always an experience. I do know this for sure, he will never be forgotten and I will never stop missing him!

Anyone who knew Shawn knew how special he was. The few times that I had met him he just had this way of making you smile and feel special. Not many people have all the great qualities that Shawn was blessed with and I know that he will always be missed by the many people whos lives he had touched over the years. May god be with all of the Busby family throughout this tragic time and may god also give you all peace of knowing that Shawn is in heaven looking over us all.

Although Shawn and I didn't become close until a few years ago he quickly became a huge part of my life. This I have found was a popular trend. Shawn was capable of making anyone feel comfortable and special. He had the kind of smile and laugh that would warm the heart of absolutely anyone. He had the funniest stories to tell I am positive that there are so many more wonderful memories that haven't been told yet.
Even on my worst days Shawn was able to make me smile. He had the ability to warm my heart on the coldest day and that is what I will deeply miss. He has done huge amounts of good for hundreds of people and that is something that will never be replaced.
I am so thankful for the impact that he had on my life.

I cant find the words to express the way my heart felt when my dad called and told me. I widh I would have been at Grandpas so I could have been there for everyone. I will never forget all of the Sunday dinners over at Grandpa Muncys. Shawn, Von and I would always sit together and talk and cut up.
Seeing Shawn for the first time in four years over Thanksgiving made my trip worth it. as soon as he saw me he gave me a huge hug and kissed my cheek.
I wish i could have been there today with the the whole family. Im thinking about all of you.

His big smile and warm bear hugs will be deeply missed. He never met a stranger and had a million and one friends. From roller-skating in the halls when we got kicked out of P.E. to going to hang out in the Nurses office when he was “The Nurse Lady’s” helper to his black Metallica t-shirts. Shawn was the best person to sit next to in English, because he was such a good speller. During Kindness week he coordinated a car wash to raise money for the Brian Kramer memorial plaque at P.H.S. We were blessed to call him our friend. Our lives were truly blessed to be touched by such a great person.

For everyone that knew me as "Baguito" Shawn was the one that gave me that nickname. I was the first in my group of friends to get a car. When I had pulled up to "The Lot" I remember Shawn misreading my licence plate Baguio and yelling Baguito! To this day I have used this nickname for everything. Thanks again Shawn for all the great memories growing up. We'll miss you.

Shawn,
You will never be forgotten, and in my heart you will always be remembered. You made a lasting impression on me from the very first time we met in Virden. I will always cherish the great laughs we had out at the lake and when you were studying to pass that mine test. You made me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry. My thoughts and prayers are of you and your family at this difficult time. I will find comfort in all the great memories we shared. You will forever be missed by so many.

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO THE FAMILY OF SHAWN BUSBY. HE WAS A GREAT GUY. HE HAD A SMILE THAT WOULD LIGHT UP ANY ROOM. HIS LAUGH COULD BE RECOGNIZED IN A CROWD OF PEOPLE AND I WILL MISS THAT. SHAWN WAS LIKE A BIG BROTHER TO ME. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE WHEN I NEEDED HIM. ESPECIALLY WITH THE PASSING OF MY MOTHER, CYNDI. HER AND SHAWN USED TO BE CLOSE WHEN SHAWN WAS GROWING UP. AS HE STOOD UP AND SAID AT MY MOTHERS FUNERAL...CYNDI GOT ME OUT OF A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH MY DAD GROWING UP. NO WORDS CAN EXPRESS HOW UPSETTING IT WAS TO HEAR THAT SHAWN HAD PASSED. SHAWN I WILL MISS YOU DEARLY. I HOPE YOU KNEW HOW MUCH WE ALL REALLY LOVED YOU. KARAOKE AT MY WAY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME....BRITTANY SPEARS LOVER.

Shawn Busby. Wow you were one of the coolest guys I've met. When you came into my grandparents bar you always had the biggest smile on your face. I would be sitting in a bar stool and in less then five minutes after walking in there you would always come up to me and ask"How are you sweetheart" and give me a BIG hug.You could always make me laugh, well really you could make anyone laugh.
I remember one time during prarie days you were in the bar and there was another guy among the 100 people in there. He was standing by the end of the bar in a corner drinking a beer. You started yelling at him then you walked over there and the next thing I know you were grinding on him, lifting up your shirt. It was the funniest thing I think I have ever seen.
I'm still haveing a hard time beliveing that your gone. But being a 13-year-old girl I don't know too much about life yett. I would be mad over little stupid pointless things but everything went away when you walked in the door. Because no one could ever be mad or upset around Shawn it just was not possible. You always had some way to make me laugh.
If this happened to somebody else and everyone was upset Shawn would be the one who would cheer everyone up. He was like the best person to be around. He was so lovable, funny, and happy all the time. In the 6 years I have known Shawn I have never seen him upset or ithout a smile. He was such a great guy.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway
If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven
And bring you back again
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No on will ever know
But know we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
Since you’ll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you’ll always stay

When I think of Shawn, he truly never met a stranger. He was so like-able.
I'll never forget the time during Freshman football, when we were close to the goal line, and we called a play, where we handed the ball off to Shawn for the run.
Or waking up every morning Senior year of high school, and having Shawn help lead the Early Bird PE Class in stretches. One day, Shawn didn't show up because he was "sick". So Mr. Smargissi took the whole class to Shawn's house to see if he was sick. Sure enough we get there, and knock on the door and he was sick.

I know we will see him again and his smile will be vibrant. Thank You Jesus. Amen

I recently went through some pictures of the old partying days. They were from 8 to 10 years ago. The thing that struck me at the time was that in every single picture Shawn was either smiling or making some kind of funny face. He was so sweet and funny. He always came right over to talk to me every single time that I saw him. Although I have only seen and spoken to Shawn a few times over the past few years, Shawn will always have a special place in my heart. My deepest sympathy to the friends and family of Shawn.
